COLLINS, Larry Leonard - Age 75, of Flint, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St, Linden. Mr. Jarrod Montague officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Larry was born February 10, 1942 in Argentine, the son of Claude Benjamin and Lola Belle (Havens) Collins. He was a 1960 graduate of Gaines High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Judy Sipes January 11, 1967 in Argentine. Larry retired in 1997 from GM Proving Grounds in Milford after 31 1/2 years. He had resided in Flint for the past 21 years coming from Argentine. He was a volunteer for the Argentine Township Fire and Rescue between 1973 - 1987.
Surviving are: his wife of 50 years, Judy; daughter, Christina (Mike) Sheick of Swartz Creek; son, Darrell (Lea) Collins of Argentine; grandchildren, Lyndsi Sheick (Jake Pedigo), Trenton (Kayla) Sheick, Derek Collins, and Daniel Collins; brother, Keith (Nancy) Collins of Linden; sisters, Loretta (Jon) Mead of Linden, Cinda Collins of Fenton, and Dawn (Dave) Collins of Flint; and several nieces and nephews.
