Elsie Mildred Thatcher of Otter Lake and Davison age 100, died Saturday November 16, 2013 at Maple Woods Manor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday November 19, 2013 at the Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Rev Gary Beck will officiate with burial in Watertown Twp. Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions in Elsie’s memory to the charity of your choice. Elsie was born in Millington Michigan June 11, 1913 the daughter of the late: Charles & Minnie (Holtz) Stein and had spent most of her life in the Otter Lake area. She was joined in marriage to Louis Thatcher in 1952 and he preceded her in death October 16, 1998. Elsie had been a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 16 since 1960. She spent most of her life raising her family but had worked at AC Spark Plug during WW II. She leaves her sons, Dean & Suzanne Thatcher of Davison, and Dale & Doris Thatcher of Tennessee. Also cherishing her memory are grandchildren: Jacob Thatcher of Florida, Emily Thatcher of Genesee, Berdadine Carter of Davison, and Timothy Carter of Burton. She is preceded in death by Sister Mildred Russell, and brothers, Harold Stein, and Charles Stein. Share your condolences at www.hansenfuneralhome.net |
