House, William E. “Ed” – of Montrose, age 58, died Saturday, November 23, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Pastor Tim Hobson officiating. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 1-8 PM and Tuesday from 10 AM until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for a fund for Ed’s son, Tyler.
Ed was born December 7, 1954 in Flint to Douglas and Agnes (Huggins) House. He was a lifelong resident of Montrose. He graduated from Montrose Hill – McCloy High School. Ed also attended Adrian College. He was retired from General Motors with over 30 years of service and was a member of UAW Local 659. He was a member of the Montrose Knights of Columbus. He was also a former member of the Montrose Board of Education. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and children. Ed also enjoyed hunting, harness racing and gardening. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers.
Surviving are: 2 children: Alisha (Nick) Stanley of Montrose and Tyler House of Montrose. 2 grandchildren: Kholton and Cheyenne Massey and one grandchild due in January. Mother: Agnes House – Johnson of Montrose. Brother: Cary (Dana) House of Montrose. 2 sisters: Nancy Obershaw of Flushing and Sadie (Larry) Leonard of Montrose. Ed was preceded in death by his father, Douglas House, step-father, Elmer Johnson and sister, Joanie Ratza.
