John R. Haywood of Davison, age 98, died Friday January 25, 2019 at Ascension- Genesys Hospital. The family will receive visitor from 1:00 – 3:00 pm Tuesday with a Memorial Service at 3:00 pm at Hansen Funeral Home Downtown Davison. Private burial will be held on the family plot in Richfield Union Cemetery at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions in John’s memory to the Katherine Haywood Memorial Endowment Fund care of McLaren Cancer Institute.
John was born in Truman, Arkansas on March 6, 1920 the son of the late: Orville & Ethel (Embry) Haywood and has resided in the Davison area for over seventy-seven years. He was joined in marriage to Carolyn Pendell on May 11, 1937 1938 and she preceded him in death on May 26, 1992. John had been employed by General Motors Chevrolet Division until his retire in 1975.
Surviving is sons; James Haywood, and John Haywood. He also leaves his grandchildren; Pamela Murray, John Haywood, James Haywood, his six great grandchildren, and a host of extended family. Please share your condolences at www.hansenfuneralhome.net
