HEDDING, David W.L., of Grand Blanc, age 43, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Genesys Hospice in Goodrich, MI. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Grand Blanc United Methodist Church, 515 Bush Ave., Grand Blanc, MI Rev. Roger Colby and Rev. Edward Hedding will officiate. Burial will be at Koehler Township Cemetery, Indian River, MI, at 1p.m. Monday, August 27, 2012. The family will receive friends Friday, from 1 pm to 8 pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, and also Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Marie Hedding Education Fund, Grand Blanc United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, or Children's Miracle Network of Flint. David was born on January 17, 1969 in West Allis, WI. He graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1987 and earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University. He had worked for Consumers Energy for 20 years. David married Kelli R. Hynes in 2002. An avid sports fan, David belonged to several bowling leagues and participated in many tournaments. He had season tickets to the Detroit Lions & Pistons, collected sport cards of all kinds and played fantasy football. He traveled to California to see the U of M football team play in the Rose Bowl and also to Hawaii to see them play in the Hula Bowl. Other travels included trips to Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Canadian Rockies, two Disney Line cruises and numerous sites in the United States. David was a member of the Grand Blanc United Methodist Church. He played in the hand bell choir and was active in the Methodist Youth Fellowship. He participated in many CROP walks and a trip to the Appalachia Service Project in Kentucky to do home repairs. Surviving are his wife, Kelli, daughter, Grace, and parents, Dale & Donna Hedding all of Granc Blanc; two sisters, Deborah Caplan (Kevin Roach) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Dawn Hellmich (James) of Menands, NY; Mother-in-law Ginger Hynes of Afton, MI, Sister-in-law Shantell Carlson (Richard) of Highland, MI; nephews Christopher and Michael Hellmich, Troy and Garrett Lazenby and many aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends and co-workers.
