BALLENTINE, Wilma M. – Of Flint Township, age 98, died Monday, March 19, 2018 at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 12 noon Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Chaplain Todd Regester officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice of Davison or Crossover Downtown Outreach Ministry of Flint, Michigan. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service on at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ballentine was born in Onaway, Michigan on November 26, 1919, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Buckler) Fowler. She married Carl Ballentine on June 27, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan and he preceded her in death on October 2, 1993. She enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting. Surviving are her children, David and wife Joyce Ballentine and Denise Denington; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Paul Denington and 3 brothers. A special thank you to all of her caregivers and McLaren Hospice of Davison.
