Age 82, of Clio, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, just 11 days after the passing of his beloved wife, Sharon. A Celebration of Jim and Sharon's life will be held at 5:00 pm, Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. A prayer to honor Jim and Sharon will be provided at 8:00 pm on Tuesday. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Jim and Sharon's tribute walls at martinfuneralhome.com.
Jim was born on November 14, 1941, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Archie and Helen (Kapture) Odette. Jim was a devoted husband, father, and cherished his only grandson, Preston. He stayed by his wife's bedside everyday until her passing. Jim enjoyed playing golf, camping, snowmobiling, fishing, and spending time with family and friends at home in Clio and at the lake house in National City, Michigan (Sand Lake), enjoying campfires and watching the beautiful sunsets.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter: Kimberly Odette-Kirk and husband, David Kirk; his grandson: Preston Kirk; his brother; Steve Odette and wife, Karen; his two brother-in-laws: Greg Sautter and wife, Eva, Dave Sautter and wife, Vicki; his two sister-in-laws: Carol Boultinghouse and husband, Bruce, Christine White; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in passing by his beloved wife: Sharon; and his parents.
