HAMILTON, John F. - of Clio, age 81, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Medilodge of Montrose. Funeral services will be held 11am Monday, February 25, 2013 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 520 Butler St., Clio, Rev. Erik Cloeter officiating. Private burial in Thetford Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8pm and Monday from 10AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church.
John was born July 12, 1931 in Flint, Michigan to the late John and Myrtle (Hanners) Hamilton. John married Donna (Miller) Hamilton on July 31, 1954; she preceded him in death February 5, 2009. He was employed at Buick Motor Division as a Diemaker for 38 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and UAW Local # 599. John served in the United States Armed Forces Marine Corp for 2 years.
Surviving are: children, Jeff (Cindy) Hamilton of Clio and Robin (David) Bush of Clio; 3 grandchildren, Brianna (Matt) Yeager, Zach (Marci) Hamilton and Chad Owen; step-grandchildren, Trista Pannell and Matthew Bush; great grandchild, Elliott Yeager; step-great grandchildren, Parker and Cameron Pannell; many nieces and nephews.
