SMITH, Helen B. – Of Grand Blanc, age 90, died Friday, October 31, 2014 at Abbey Park.
Memorial Visitation 11 a.m. and Memorial Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday November 8, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.

Helen was born on May 17, 1924 in Sandusky, Michigan, the daughter of the late Ivan and Beatrice (Hayes) Balhoff and was a resident of Glen Lake, Michigan and later the Grand Blanc area.
She was active in the Glen Lake Women’s Club and Glen Lake Community Reformed Church.
She enjoyed knitting hats for preemie babies at the NICU at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City and enjoyed golfing and traveling in their motor home.
Mrs. Smith was employed as a Secretary for Argus Camera Company in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Surviving are husband, Don of Grand Blanc;
two sons, Brad and wife Andrea Smith of Ada, MI,
Jeff and wife Lorie Smith of Grand Blanc;
grandchildren, Kyle and wife Cheryl, Cameron and fiancee’ Caitlyn Bonney, Lauren and Kara Smith and
Ryan Smith;
sisters, Virginia Winans, Evelyn Downer and Anna Balhoff;
many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank caregivers Laura Wilkerson and Harold Dalton, the staff at Abbey Park, the Medical Team, Medical Team Hospice and the Care N Assist staff for all their special care.
