Phillip E. Briggs of Flint, formerly of Beaverton, age 74, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Heartland-Fostrian. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, at Rossell Funeral Home, Fr. Paul Schwermer will officiate. Burial will follow at Old Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Phillip was born in Flint, Michigan on August 5, 1938, the son of Jesse Felker and Marie Anna (Cutler) Briggs. He was a GM retiree and a member of U.A.W. Local 659. His family and golf were his passions.
Surviving are: four children, Michele and husband Ronald Paschket of Flushing, Mary and husband Rod Dorff of Flushing, Michael and wife Barbara Briggs of Montrose, Mark and wife Lisa Briggs of Flushing; seven grandchildren, Joshua and wife Brandi Fenner of Flint, Jennifer and husband Matthew Huber of Flushing, Mara and husband Dan Shevnock of Davison, Kaylie and husband Logan LaClair of Swartz Creek, Steven and wife Rachael Briggs of Flushing, Patrick Briggs of Swartz Creek, Jesse Paschket of Holland; six great-grandchildren, Landin, Gracelyn, Brysen, Eli, Aiden, and Jace; many cousins, extended family and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, Shelby Elizabeth Mary Paschket. |
