David S. Hasyn - 88 of Lennon, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will 11 AM Friday, June 26 at Mowen Funeral Home - William A. Scarlett Memorial Chapel. Friends may call on the family on Thursday from 4 PM to 8 PM.
Final rest will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
David was born in Flint on August 15, 1926. He was the son of Steven and Ethel (Langel) Hasyn. He grew up in Flint and left school to enlist in the U.S. Navy in 1944 at the age of 17. He served on the USS Missoula. He was one of several Flint servicemen that served during the occupation of Japan following World War II.
Returning home, he married Martha Merita Nelson on July 3, 1948 in Mason, Michigan. Mrs. Hasyn predeceased him on January 11, 2014. David worked for General Motors in Flint.
Survivors include: three sons, Dave and wife Debbie of Lake City, Florida, Al and wife Tina of Lennon, Rick of Byron; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. |
