Age 55, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at McLaren Hospital after a courageous struggle with breast cancer. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2018 at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 W. Hill Road, Flint. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday and 12 noon Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to IBCIC (Inflammatory Breast Cancer International Consortium), c/o Massimo Cristofanilli, MD, 710 N. Fairbanks Ct., Olson Pavilion 8-250A, Chicago, IL 60611 ( IBCIC.org). Stephane was born in Flint, Michigan on August 23, 1962, the daughter of Jack and Peggy (Jones) Irwin. She graduated from Swartz Creek High School, U of M Flint with a Bachelor of Science, and CMU with a Master of Science in Administration. She was self-employed as Med-Write Transcription Service for 20 years. She enjoyed skiing with her father and many other avid skiers at Mt. Holly. Her cottage on Lake Huron at Au Gres was a place where she enjoyed summers observing nature, wild life, eagles and loved kayaking. She shared these activities with many friends and family. An avid writer, Stephane was proud of the many articles and essays she published in the magazine Innovative Health as well as her personal memories and narratives. Stephane is survived by her immediate family -- mother Peggy Irwin, her brother Jeff Irwin and sister in-law Wendi, niece Emilou, nephew Matthew – and extended family. Stephane was preceded in death by her father, Jack Irwin (March 2018). Stephane was a bright spark to all who knew and loved her.
