Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and veteran was called home on November 8, 2024 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family at the age of 79. Ron was born on November 17, 1944 to William and Helen (Sproul) Morris in Birch Run, Michigan. Following High School Ron enlisted in the United States Army and served two tours in Vietnam. Ron married Ruth Ann Hatfield on July 26th, 1975 they were married for 48 wonderful years. Ron was dedicated to his wife and would do anything for her. As her health declined, he continued to care for her with love and devotion until she passed peacefully on September 21st, 2023. Ron loved his family and while he may have been stubborn, he had a heart of gold. His kindness was recognized by everyone. Ron never missed an opportunity to spend time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He looked forward to opening day of deer season, he spent many years hunting and fishing and always found tranquility in the great outdoors and never turned down an opportunity to travel.


Surviving to cherish his memory are two daughters, Darla Yancer, Prudenville; Christina (Mark) Campbell, Houghton Lake; four grandchildren, Rachel Yancer, Steve (Heather) Yancer, Andrew (Adrienne) Campbell and Matthew (Mackenzie) Campbell; seven great-grandchildren, Paige, Hunter, Jayden, Olivia, Jenna, Cameron and Cole; siblings, Marlene (Bob) Hind, Don (JoAnne) Morris, and Connie (Ron) Wezell; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. Ron is happily reunited with his wife, Ruth; siblings, Norman (Diane) Morris and Jean (Lynn) Lutton.


A Funeral Service will take place at Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty.) Interment to follow in Richland Township Cemetery in Hemlock, Michigan. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army and V.F.W. Post 7302. Ron’s granddaughter, Rachel Yancer will play Taps on her trumpet as a tribute to Ron’s dedication to serving our country. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those wishing to make a donation in Ron’s honor may consider memorials to Wounded Warriors or The Disabled American Veterans.
