BALLARD, Barbara Nancy – of Davison, MI, age 76, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Friday, September 29, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Debbie Line-Yencer officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Meadowview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 4-8 PM Thursday, September 28, 2017 and from 10-11 AM Friday, September 29, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home.
Barbara was born in Flint, MI on January 16, 1941, daughter of the late Ernest and Edith (Horton) Bentley. She married Von Ballard on March 12, 1960 at Richfield Church of the Nazarene in Otisville, MI. Barbara and Von enjoyed over 30 years of retirement together. She attended the Davison United Methodist Church for more than 45 years. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and playing a variety of games. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Barbara is survived by her devoted and loyal husband of 57 years, Von; 3 daughters, Judith Ballard, Nancy Ballard-Smith and Susan (Mark) Lutz; 5 grandchildren, Charles and Gregory Smith, Douglas, Kimberlee and Victoria Lutz; sister, Linda Herman; 2 brothers, James (Mary) Bentley and Michael Bentley; her Connecticut pen pal of 60 years, Norma Connolly; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by 8 siblings, Earnest Bentley, George Bentley, Gary Bentley, Janet Filkins, Gladys Myers, William Bentley, Sharon Lee Bentley and Herbert John Bentley.
