COOPER, HARRY G. age 88, died Saturday, December 20, 2014. A Celebration of his life will be announced at a later date, at the Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing, MI. Harry was born June 22, 1926 in Bay City, MI to parents Harry E. and Margaret (Tuttle) Cooper. He graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1945. Harry was a kind and gentle man who had a great sense of humor and loved everything from little dogs and children to Italian Opera. He served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps at the end of WW II and was a member of the V.F.W. Davison Post. Harry worked for Fisher Coldwater for 28 years, retiring in 1981. He also worked for the Post Office from 1943 to 1953. He was Financial Secretary for the U.A.W. Local 326 from 1957 to 1959. Harry was a avid bowler and golfer and belonged to several Leagues. He wrote two books and numerous articles for the Flint Journal. He loved baseball, playing third base in the Minor Leagues. His picture along with others of the Red Arrow Baseball Team, is hanging in the Flint Hall of Fame. Surviving are sons Harry Burton Cooper, Jeffery (Cheryl) Chambers, grandchildren Carrissa Chambers Chirdon and Jeffery Roy Chambers JR; sister Leona Mudd; and many other nieces and nephews. Harry was proceeded in death by his parents; brothers Loren, Victor and Carl; sister Emma Vickerman and long time devoted companion Joyce Murphy. A special thanks to Jan (Murphy) Bentley and Janet Richardson and Young at Heart AFC for overseeing his daily needs.
