DERMINER, Harry Edward - Of Burton, age 85, passed into Heaven on Friday, January 26, 2018.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Dan Louman officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, the Genesee County Humane Society or a charity of one’s choice
Visitation 3-8pm Monday and 11am Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Harry was born in Detroit on January 24, 1933, the son of Lewis T. DerMiner and Eunice B. (Aldrich) DerMiner. Harry retired from Truck and Bus with 38 years of service. On September 11, 1982, he married Jacqueline Gerow in Burton. Harry served in the United States Army from March 3, 1953 to March 3, 1955. He was in the Tank Corp and stationed in Germany. Harry enjoyed many years of camping and fishing in Oak Harbor, Ohio and he loved bowling. He attended Heritage Baptist Church until his illness would not let him.
Surviving are wife, Jacqueline;
seven children, Tammy Flynn of Burton, Linda (Dennis) Winer of Burton, Ray (Joyce) DerMiner of Burton, Kevin (Jill) Gerow of Santa Anna, CA, Rob (Kim Ash) Gerow of Grand Blanc, Brian (Tina) Gerow of Burton, Terry (Valerie) Gerow of Burton;
several grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
brother, Richard DerMiner;
many other family members and friends;
and his dog, Chloe.
He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Cleatus Ann, his parents, sister, Carol Ann Howser, sister-in-law, Vivian DerMiner, father-in-law and mother-in-law, grandson and son-in-law.
A special thank you to Cricket Bonner and Sugarbush House for the great care they gave Harry.
He will be missed by all who truly loved him.
