CLEMONS, Stonewall “Stoney” – Of Flint, age 87, died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the
Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Ed Emmerling officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Monday and 12 p.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Stoney was born in Green Springs, West Virginia on July 9, 1925, the son of the late Stonewall and Nellie Clemons.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Stoney married Flora Brookman on October 26, 1951 and she preceded him in death on April 10, 2008.
Mr. Clemons retired from General Motors “Old Chevy in the Hole” after 30 years of service and was a member of the UAW Local #659.
Surviving are four children, Gary, Judy, Terry, Pam and spouses;
grandchildren;
great-grandchildren;
special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Flora; several brothers and sisters.
