HYDE, Bernice M. - Of Flint, age 90, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Avalon Hospice.
Funeral service will be held 10am Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Joseph Hall officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Visitation 3-8pm Saturday and 2-6pm Sunday at the funeral home. An Eastern Star Memorial Service will be held 7:30pm Saturday evening by the Eastern Star Welfare Lodge #517 at the funeral home.
Bernice was born in Ishpeming, MI on February 27, 1922. Bernice graduated from Ishpeming High School. She was a member of Corunna Road Baptist Church. She was a life member of the Eastern Star Welfare Lodge, #517 and enjoyed camping and was a member of the Jayco Club. Bernice was employed at McDonald Dairy for several years and owned and operated Hyde’s Greenhouse from 1957 to 1965.
Surviving are children, Dennis and wife Linda of Flint, James Jr and wife Lisa of Linden;
grandchildren, Michele Hyde of Flint and James III of Linden;
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Hyde Sr. and 10 siblings.
