Hanczaryk, Stefania - of Grand Blanc Township, age 89, died Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Sugarbush Manor in Flint.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am Thursday, March 2, 2017 at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic church, G 3464 West Pasadena Avenue,
Father Bogdan Rybchuk officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 4-8pm Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Panahyda Service will be held at 7pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Visitation at church 10am Thursday until the time of the Mass.
Mrs. Hanczaryk was born in Kupczynci, State of Ternopil in Western Ukraine on January 1, 1928. She was a resident of Grand Blanc and Flint area since 1952. She and her late husband Anton survived slave labor camps in Nazi Germany during WWII, they were wed following the war. Both worked as labors helping to rebuild England following the Blitzkrieg. They immigrated to the U.S. in December, 1952. Mrs. Hanczaryk retired from Koegel Meats after 30 years of service.
Surviving are her two sons, Dr. Micheil Hanczaryk and his wife Janice, and Oryst Hanczaryk both of Grand Blanc;
2 granddaughters, Dr. Christine Hanczaryk and Alexis Hanczaryk, a great grandson Berkeley Hanczaryk.
