DOLEHANTY, Doris Louise - Age 90, of Gaines, died on Friday, January 9, 2015. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 14 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 9450 Duffield Road, Gaines. Fr. Jeffrey Poll celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Gaines. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Monday, 2-8 PM Tuesday with a 7 PM Scripture service at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. The family will receive friends 9:30 AM until the time of mass Wednesday at the church.
Doris was born November 4, 1924 in Cohoctah, the daughter of Donald W. and Hazel (Runyan) Johnson. She married Clement Dolehanty on April 11, 1953 and he preceded her in death on June 8, 2008. She graduated from Wayne State University with her Nursing Degree and retired from McLaren Hospital after 35 years of service. Doris was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a Cub Scout Leader.
Surviving are her children, Gary (Barbara) Dolehanty of Nashville, TN, Allen (Sandy) Dolehanty of NY, Michael (Frankie) Dolehanty of Swartz Creek, Joseph (Terry) Dolehanty of Bancroft, Thomas Dolehanty of Gaines, Mary Ann Bishop of Flint, Karen (Terry) Henson of Littleton, CO, Daniel (Susan) Dolehanty of Durand, John (Maryann) Dolehanty of Lansing, William (Angie) Dolehanty of Waterford; many grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sister, Onalee; sister-in-law, Harriet Johnson; brother-in-law, Harold Burgland; many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Martin "Marty"; sisters, Virginia, June; brother, Ralph.
