BALLMER, Phyllis - Of Grand Blanc, age 82, died Monday, September 10, 2018 at Regency of Grand Blanc.
Funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Pastor Curtis Lilly officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 5-9pm Wednesday and 9am Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Phyllis was born in Burton, Michigan on June 19, 1936, the daughter of the late Cleo and Edith (Hendricks) Rhoads. She was saved by Grace at the age of 8. Phyllis graduated from Burton-Bendle High School, Class of 1954. She married Russell Ballmer in 1960 at Wesleyan Pilgrim Holiness Church in Flint. He was the love of her life for 58 years. Phyllis’ first priority was being a homemaker and raising her family in church. Her pride and joy were her family and she served the Lord faithfully night and day. Phyllis proudly adopted 3 children, one with special needs. She loved good jokes with the grandchildren and watching her children and grandchildren play sports. Phyllis was an avid piano player at Flint Baptist Temple and numerous other churches over 50 years. Above all, Phyllis was generous, giving and loyal.
Surviving are husband, Russell Ballmer;
children, Mark Ballmer, Jim (Darlene) Ballmer, Julie (Sam) Lilly, Tammy (Dan) Lynch, and Charlie (Polly) Ballmer;
grandchildren, Kylie Weber, Nathan, Nicholas and Thomas Ballmer, Taylor, Brett, Joshua and Ryan Lilly, Johnny, Joey, Carley Lynch, Charlie, Grace and Cody Ballmer;
and brother, Wesley (Shirley) Rhoads.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Edith Rhoads, brothers, Norn (Viola) Rhoads, Don (Arlene) Rhoads and Jack Rhoads.
