Powell, Diane Carole, of Flushing, age 79, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, surrounded by her family. Per Diane’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to The Salvation Army, in Diane’s memory.
Diane was born in Flint, Michigan on December 17, 1945, daughter of the late Clarence John (Buster) and Rhea (Murphy) Leasley. On April 10, 1965, she married the love of her life, Roger Dennis Powell, in Flint, Michigan. Diane was known for her sharp eye for bargains and her couponing skills. She loved getting together with her high school girlfriends, a close-knit group that they called “Club”. More than anything, Diane’s greatest joy in life was being a loving wife to Roger and a devoted mother, cherishing every moment spent with her family.
Diane is survived by her loving husband, Roger Powell; daughter, Lori D. Powell-Newton and her husband Mark Newton; son, Richard E. Powell; sisters-in-law, Jean Leasley and Lynn Duncan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Morrell ‘Moe’ Leasley.
