BUTLER, Mary Elizabeth (Clime) – of Davison, age 88 passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held 10 AM Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial will be in Gracelawn Cemetery. Pastor Jim Reid officiating. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Wednesday with a vigil service at 7 PM led by her son, Rev. Mr. Lenard A. Butler. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Testament Church.
Mary was born in Cleveland, OH on March 28, 1925, daughter of the late George and Helen (Otto) Clime. She married Leonard Butler on March 5, 1944 in Flint, MI. Mary was a member of New Testament Church. Her strong faith lead her to be a part of the Power of Prayer and the Flint Prayer Club. Mary owned and operated Butler Tailor Shop for over 50 years. She also enjoyed her time spent with her family and friends, Red Hats and crochet group.
Mary is survived by her children, Lenard (Judy) Butler, Diane (Dale) Henson, George Butler, Kathy (Terry) Dean, Dixie (John) Book and Faith (Philip) Mathenia: 19 grandchildren; 21 great- grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; brother, Al Clime. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Butler; brother, Ted Clime; and sister-in-law, Helen Clime.
