JOHNSON, Mary “Sue/Suzy/Susie” Virginia (Querio) – of Davison, MI, age 76, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, June 29, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held 2 PM Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Robert D. Taylor officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Davison Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Tuesday, July 2, 2024 and 1-2 PM Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization Sue felt strongly about.
Sue was born in Lapeer, MI on April 25, 1948, daughter of the late Robert and Lucille (Teays) Evans. She was an adored wife, daughter, niece, mother, sister, grandma, GiGi, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her cheerful, kind, playful ways made for bright days and great hair. Many know Susie as the best person to sit next to at any party or hit the sales rack at any store. She grew up in Lapeer, loved doing hair, and met her husband and best friend Jerry at the age of 15. They enjoyed 61 years together, 57 years married. Many happy years were spent traveling, camping, building their family dream home, and going to Whitey’s for fish and chips and friendship. She worked as a hairdresser at Eldon’s and Rosemary’s for over 50 years.
Sue is survived by her husband, Jerry Johnson; 2 children, Michelle (Fran) and Jay; 3 grandchildren, Danielle (Rick), Erik and Zack; 3 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Blake (“the twins”) and Peyton; 2 brothers, Bob (Deb) and Walt (Darlene); best girlfriend, Linda McCall; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lucille Evans.
