ZVONEK, Donnie Lee – Of Roscommon, age 64, died Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Father Roy Horning officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Munson Manor in Traverse City or the American Cancer Society.
Visitation 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A Family Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Donnie was born in Saginaw, Michigan on June 4, 1949 and was a resident of Flushing for many years.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era as a Sergeant with the 809th Engineering Battalion in Thailand.
On October 27, 1973 he married Frances Sovis.
He was a life member of VFW, member of ZCBJ Lodge #242 in Owosso and the Roscommon RC Aviators Club.
Mr. Zvonek was employed by Buick Motor Division for 39 1/2 years.
Surviving are wife, Frances;
mother, Anna;
children, Amy (Sean) Collins,
Renae (Bill) Couch,
Michelle (Mike) Fuller,
Ryan (Kate) and
Steven;
6 grandchildren, MacKenzie and Justin Couch, Connor and Aidan Collins, Anika and Mikey Fuller; and one grandchild on the way;
sister, Diane Toulouse and brother, David.
He was preceded in death by his father, John and son, Matthew.
