Bushrod W. Bayless, Sr., age 92 of Corunna, passed away Tuesday, June
6, 2017 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 9, 2017 at Watkins
Brothers Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel in Owosso. Rev.
Michael Case will officiate with burial to follow in Yerian Cemetery,
Lennon.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday one hour prior to
the service.
Bushrod was born July 11, 1924 in Nabb, Indiana to the late Oliver and
Ida (Marr) Bayless.
After high school graduation in 1942, Bushrod went on to serve his
country faithfully in the Army Air Force during World War II.
On January 20, 1947 he married Beulah Griffith in Pikeville, KY.
Mr. Bayless was a car painter for General Motors, retiring from the Fisher
I Plant in Flint in 1979 after 30 years of service.
He enjoyed auto repair as a hobby and was very knowledgeable.
He also enjoyed traveling and riding his motorcycle.
Mr. Bayless is survived by his wife of 70 years, Beulah; children:
Sherman Bayless of Owosso, Albert (Shauna) Bayless of Corunna,
Bushrod Bayless Jr. of Corunna, Elizabeth Bayless of Waco, TX, Paul
Bayless of Corunna; 4 grandchildren: Amanda, Marissa, Daniel and
Derrick.
He was preceded in death by his son, Steven and his brother, James.
Memorial contributions given in Mr. Bayless' name are suggested to St.
Jude Children's' Hospital or the Hilltop Church of God in Flint.
