HIPKINS (OSBORNE), JOYCE L. – Of Burton, age 92, died Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at home with family.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m., Monday, October 28, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, G-5199 Richfield Road, Flint, Father Roy Horning officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Those desiring may make contributions to the Humane Society of Genesee County or Holy rosary Parish.
Visitation 12 p.m. Monday at the church until the time of the Mass.
Joyce was born in Kingsford, Michigan on April 16, 1932, the daughter of the late Robert and Germaine (Plante) Osborne and came to Flint in 1941 with family.
She graduated from Flint Northern in 1950 with honors.
On November 21, 1952 she married Howard V. Hipkins in Flint.
She was a member of St. Leo’s the Great, Holy Rosary Parish in Flint, St. Joseph of the Forest in Silver Springs, Florida.
She enjoyed cards, Bingo, Jeopardy and old tv shows. She loved reading and watching animals outside from her window. Most of all she loved putting on family dinners and winters in Florida.
Joyce was a very generous person, putting everyone else first and loved her beloved pets.
Surviving are brother, Robert Osborne;
children, Nancy and Chad Boultinghouse,
Randall and Karla,
Karen and Chuck Schafer and
Vicki Hipkins;
grandchildren, Jennifer and Scott, Karl and Rosanna, Jessica and Scott, Michael and Teasha, Jayme and Jesse, Jennifer, Stephanie and Ben;
several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard V. Hipkins; son, Michael H. Hipkins; great-granddaughter, Jordyn R. Hipkins; sisters, Marge Anspaugh, Betty Graves and Jeanette Allis.
The family would like to thank the nurses of Residential Hospice for taking such good care of our mother.
