COOK, Vivian A. - of Birch Run, age 74, died Thursday, June 13, 2019 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Birch Run United Methodist Church. 12265 Church St., in Birch Run. Rev. Rey Mondragon officiating. Burial in Cook Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 4PM until 8PM and Saturday from 11AM until the time of service at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Birch Run United Methodist Church or the Birch Run Athletic Association.
Vivian was born October 20, 1944 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Ellsworth and Josephine (Ballard) Tanner. She married Thomas J. Cook on January 25, 1964 at Birch Run United Methodist Church. Vivian was a member of Birch Run United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for 23 years. She was an avid gardener and always enjoyed having flowers in her home. She loved cooking for her family and had many specialties they enjoyed, including fried chicken and macaroni and cheese. Vivian also enjoyed watching many years of Michigan Football. Above all, Vivian was a wonderful mother who loved spending time with her grandchildren and truly cared about everyone. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are: Husband, Tom Cook; Sons: Jon (Debra) Cook, Ed (Denise) Cook, Robb (Natalie) Cook, and Jerry (Amy) Cook; 12 grandchildren: Ashley Cook, John Tanner Cook, Erin Cook, Matt Cook, Dan Cook, Matalynn Cook, Brockton Cook, Briggson Cook, Kalliann Cook, Sam Cook, Cheyenne Cook, and Tansy Cook; Brother, Todd (Mary Jo) Tanner; Sisters in law: Jackie Tanner, and Mary Tanner; Brother in law, Tim Daenzer.
