KURTZ, MADONNA “DONNA”– Of Flushing age 79, died Friday, November 15, 2024 at The Meadows Facility in Owosso.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley Street, Flint, Father Matthew Bonk and
Father Thomas Firestone concelebrating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to St. John Vianney Catholic School.
Visitation 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Monday November 18, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Donna will be at the church from 10 a.m. Tuesday, until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m.
Madonna was born in Flint, Michigan on October 29, 1945, the daughter of the late Max and Theresa (Hintz) Lipinski.
On August 16, 1968 she married Edward Kurtz.
She was a very active parishioner at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. She was a very talented artist and did floral designs at church. Donna displayed her work at the Shiawassee Arts Center, and other art installations and volunteered at the Flint Institute of Arts.
Surviving are her husband, Edward;
children, Krista (Chris) McGuire,
Thomas (Athena) Kurtz
son-in-law, Roy Teahen;
7 grandchildren, Max and Halle McGuire, Joseph, Nolan and Elise Teahen, Edward and Violet Kurtz;
2 brothers, Larry Lipinski, Tom and wife Bonnie Lipinski;
brother-in-law, Jim Smith.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Julia Teahen and sister, Colette Smith.
