BAKSA, George A. – of Flushing, age 76, died Sunday, May 19, 2019 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 400 N. Saginaw St., in Montrose. Rev. Fr. Jonathan Perrotta officiating. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Wednesday from 2PM until 8PM and at the church on Thursday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. Burial will be 10:30AM Tuesday, May 28, 2019 in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly with full Military Honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the DAV – Disabled American Veterans.
George was born January 18, 1943 in Flint, Michigan to the late Joseph and Jennie (Bodnar). He graduated from Flint Central High School in 1961. George married Cecilia McLeish on November 17, 2013. Mr. Baksa is a U.S. Army Vietnam War Veteran. He retired from Dupont in 1992 with 31 years of service. George was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus – Good Shepherd Council #8669, and the Flushing American Legion Post #283. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, bowling, and spending time with his dog.
Surviving are: Wife, Cecilia McLeish-Baksa; Children: Kristi (Chuck) Dunstan, Tony (Laura) Baksa, Brent (Becky) Baksa, Bonnie (Oliver) Seah, Connie (Randy) Mason, and Donald McLeish; Grandchildren: Bryce, Cole, Rylie, Brooke, Nathan, Braylond, Gabriel, Oliver, Jackson, Zachary, Tyler, Kyle, and Ashton; Sister, Mary (Ed); Brothers: Joe and Bob; Loving furry companion, Ruby.
