DEXEL, James “Jim” J. – of Burton, age 82, passed away February 15, 2016 at the Pines of Burton (South). A Funeral Service will be held 10 AM Friday, February 19, 2016 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial will be in Maple Cemetery, Grand Blanc, MI. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County, McLaren Cancer Institute or the charity of your choice.
Jim was born in Flint, MI on June 16, 1933, son of the late Edward and Florence (DePlanta) Dexel. He retired from GM Local # 651.
Jim leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Janice (Bunnie); his loving dog and sidekick, Buddy; four children, Rick (Kay) Dexel, Mark Dexel and friend Bonnie, Brandon Dexel, Jill (Jeff) Lokken; five grandchildren, Jarrod, Cory, Andrea, Meagan and Jessica; four great-grandchildren; special niece and her husband Jennifer and Terry Davis; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dorothy Kinney, Jack, Robert “Bob” and Ward “Bud” Dexel. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Pines of Burton South for all their care and support, especially Arianna, they had a special bond.
