BELLANT, Charles Norman – of Montrose, formerly of Tawas, passed away May 18, 2014 at Maple Woods Manor with his wife and daughters by his side. A Funeral Service, with Military Honors will be held 3 PM Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Steve Turner officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday and 2-3 PM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Parkinson Foundation.
Charles was born in Flint, MI on June 9, 1928 son of the late Daniel and Pansey (Toms) Bellant. He married Ola L. Graham on September 19, 1978.
Charles enjoyed working as the Manager at the Tawas River Trailer Park, before moving to Montrose. He was a life member of the Standish VFW Post #3724 and Davison American Legion Post #267, a member of the Davison and Tawas Eagles. Charles proudly served his country for four years in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Buick after 30 years of service.
Charles is survived by his wife, Ola; daughter, Danielle and her children Lily and Joey; stepchildren, Doug (Mary Jo) Graham, Jill (Tom) Letourneau, Joy Mitchell, Wendy (Michael) Gurd, Teri Graham; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; brother, Kenneth Bellant; sister, Mary Alice Mossman. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Edith Edenburn, Betty Murphy; son, James Bellant.
