Carl C. Thayer, age 66 of Goodrich died at home March 30, 2017 surrounded by his family. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 3rd at Hill Funeral Home 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, Pastor Jeff Stonerock officiating. Burial will be in Goodrich Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday from 2-8 p.m. Carl was born in Ogemaw County to Cecil & Lovina (Cornman) Thayer. Carl worked as a welder for General Motors for 32 years. He loved NASCAR, scrapping and playing his guitar. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Bethany; loving father of Tanya Schroeder, Nicole (Marty) Short and Rayann (Eric) Butterworth; cherished grandfather of Derrick (fiancé Deanna Lee) & Cody Schroeder, Leslie & Joshua Short, Shelby & George Butterworth and great grandfather of Presley Wood. Brother of Gail (Irene) Thayer and Mary Alexander. He also leaves his beloved dog Dusty. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Wenona Burr, Carol Slough and Olive Royalty.
