Stanley John Chovanec
Age 95, of Swartz Creek,MI, passed away peacefully Monday, January 15, 2018.
Stanley was born July 11, 1922 in St Louis, MI the son of John and Katherine (Hudacek) Chovanec.
He was a proud World War II veteran, loved working his farm land and a member of the Operating Engineers Union for 60 plus years.
He was the beloved Father of five children, Gary (Barb) Chovanec of Flint, John (Dottie Kelly) Chovanec of Flint, Stanley S. (Barb) Chovanec of Galesburg, MI, Marty (Lori) Chovanec of Swartz Creek, and Terry (Mike) Grochola of Flushing.
He was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren: Toni (Sean) Draper, Ashley Germaine, Angela (Nicholas) Sands, Jared Germaine, and Taylor Chovanec. Four great grandchildren: Shelbie (Brent) Perrin, Micheal Bair, Marrisa Bair and Ryan Draper. Three great-great grandchildren: Quinn, Ella, and Taggart Perrin.
He was preceded in death by his wife Helen, of 70 years of marriage, his parents, sister, Bessie Petrowski, Helen Bourdow and granddaughter Rhonda Baker.
The family would like to thank our good friends and neighbor the Wendlings, especially Jon for being our eyes and ears and watching over Stanley for the last few years. There’s nothing he enjoyed more than talking about the farm.
As per his wishes, no funeral service will be held. Cremation has taken place and Stanley and Helen ashes will be placed in the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly MI. |
