LEONARD, Hugh Joseph – of Otisville, MI, age 73, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020. A Private Funeral Service, with Military Honors, will be held at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Elder Garfield Cooper officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Otisville Church of Christ, in Hugh’s memory.
Hugh was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 15, 1946, son of the late Irvin and Nellie Leonard. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1969-1975. Hugh worked as a Tool & Die Maker for over 30 years of his career. He enjoyed fixing anything and building homes. For entertainment, he would exercise at his local gym, play bingo or go listen to karaoke at a local establishment. He always served his church and was eager to help and give to others. More recently, he had found a passion for camping and exploring different states, and he took some guitar lessons.
Hugh is survived by 4 children, Laura Gill, Kimberly Jacques, Jeffery Leonard (Ashley) and Zachery Creech; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Nellie Leonard; and his wife, Beth Ann Leonard.
