RANVILLE, PAUL – Of Grand Blanc, age 79, died Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at his residence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Father Leronio Vodivodi officiating.
Cremation will take place following the Mass.
Visitation 4 p.m.-8 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Ranville will be at the church 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the Mass.
Paul was born in Palm Springs, CA on April 18, 1945, the son of the late Marcel and Ruth (Smith) Ranville.
On June 5, 2004 he married Joanne Wichmann.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and K of C Council
He umpired baseball for many years for the MHSAA.
He loved the Tigers, Red Wings and Lions. He was an avid golfer and bowler; and enjoyed watching his grandkids sporting events.
Paul was employed at Chevy in the Hole most of his career.
Surviving are his wife, Joanne;
4 children, Scott (Jenny), Michelle (Joe) Watt, Kevin Ranville and Ken Ranville;
2 step-children, Kristin (Andy) Rathaus and Jeff (Clara) Wichmann;
13 grandchildren;
sister-in-law, Connie Ranville;
sisters and brothers, Theresa (Denny) Owens, Tim (Anne) Ranville, Patty O’Connor, Ginger (Royce) Bowman, Mark (Sally) Ranville, Anne (Wes) Bond and
Tom (Rose) Ranville;
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen Ranville; granddaughter, Hannah and brother, Ray.
