MILLER, Robert Earl, of Davison, MI, age 72, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, October 27, 2016 with his loving wife by his side. A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Richfield Rd. United Brethren Church, 6259 Richfield Rd., Flint, MI 48506, Pastor Jim Pryor officiating. Inurnment Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 6-8 PM Tuesday, November 1, 2016 and 12-1 PM Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Richfield Rd. United Brethren Church, in Bob’s memory. The family would like to express their gratitude to their church families and friends for all of their love and prayers.
Bob was born in Mt. Vernon, KY on October 17, 1944, son of the late William C. Miller and Mary H. (Stephens) Miller Doan. Most of his childhood was spent in KY, but later the family moved to MI where Bob met and married Kathleen Carter on August 13, 1966. They have lived in the Davison area since 1973. Bob proudly served his country in Army National Guard from 1965-1971. He was employed with General Motors and worked at several different plants in the Flint area. Bob retired from Buick City in 1996 after 30 years of service.
Bob enjoyed fishing in Quebec with his daughter and family. He also enjoyed hunting, golfing, bowling, metal detecting and collecting Hot Wheels cars. Bob had a 1967 Chevy Impala that he enjoyed taking to Back to the Bricks and other local car shows with his son and family. Bob’s family meant the world to him. He loved attending his grandchildren’s events, including his grandsons hockey games and his granddaughters dance recitals. Bob and Kathy enjoyed traveling and have visited almost all of the 50 states, with a few exceptions.
Mr. Miller is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathy; 2 children, Eric (Kelly) Miller of Linden, MI and Michelle (Chris) Tremblay of Grand Blanc, MI; 5 grandchildren, Brianna and Mackenzie Miller, Alexandre, Madeline and Mathieu Tremblay; 3 brothers, Mike (Pat) Miller of North Branch, MI, Paul Miller and Larry Miller of Flint, MI; 2 sisters, Grace (Lloyd) Sebastian of Columbus, IN and Virginia Caudle of Flint, MI; many other loving family members and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marvin Miller; 2 sisters, Sharon Rose Fulkerson and Donna Kathy Miller.
