BOWSER, James “Jim” – of Birch Run, age 73, died Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Funeral service will be held at 1PM on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Rev. Carol J. Freeland officiant. Burial at Birch Run Cemetery to follow. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, from 12PM until 8PM and Wednesday from 11AM until the time of service.
Jim was born December 23, 1950, in Saginaw, to the late Willard and Helen (Percy) Bowser. He attended Birch Run Community Schools and proudly worked at General Motors for over 45 years, retiring as a fork truck operator. On June 28, 1997, Jim married Jerilyn Jordan, and together they shared 17 years of marriage. Jerilyn preceded him in death on May 24, 2014. Jim enjoyed visiting the casino and hanging out with the lottery club. He liked to be outside riding four wheelers or dirt bikes, and he especially loved to spend time with his grandchildren. James was a family-oriented man who always put his loved ones first and never failed to make others smile with his unique sense of humor. Above all else, he adored his beloved companion, Gizmo. Jim will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Jim is forever remembered by his Children: Delores (Robert) Richardson, Andrea (Fernando) Franklin, Joshua (Rose) Bowser, James (Lisa) Bowser, Cassandra (Sean) Malloy, Crystal (Troy) Leach, Lacey (Andy) Lee, and Ryan (Ashley) Lee; 17 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren; Siblings: Phyllis “Annie” (Ken) Wood and Daniel Bowser; Bonus family and special friends: Felix (Marty) Escareno, Tom Bradley, Kelly (John) Obertien and family, Craig; Faithful companion, Gizmo; Many nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends. Jim was preceded in death by his Wife, Jerilyn Bowser; Grandson, Landen Lee; Parents, Willard and Helen; Brothers: John and Willard Bowser; Stepmother, Nancy Bowser; Beloved dog, Koko. |
