Passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, June 25, 2014 at home. Age 69 years. Ray was born on January 15, 1945 to John and Helen (Klein) Bishop. He married Edith Birchmeier on June 19, 1965, she survives him.
Ray was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Maple Grove. After 37 years of service he retired from GM Engine Plant 36. He enjoyed his Wednesday golf day, spending time at the cabin, hunting, being outdoors and he also enjoyed Farming. Ray had a special place in his heart for his family and especially enjoyed all of the time spent and the memories made with his children and grandchildren.
Besides his loving wife, Eydie, he is survived by his four children; Sheila (Kevin) Lienau, Rhonda (Douglas) Kadolph, Kelly Bishop, Carrie (Brent) Wheeler, grandchildren; Andrew, Bryce, Kollin, Makayla Lienau, Isabella Rae Wheeler, Jessie, Zachary and Alexis Kadolph, his mother, Helen, brothers and sisters; Judy (Ernie) Birchmeier of New Lothrop, Bob (Kathy) Bishop of DeWitt, Ed (Diane) Bishop of Chesaning, Linda Jordan of Oakley, Becky (Bill) Bodnar of Chesaning, Jaculyn Harris of Chesaning, Sandy (Rick) Damveld of Dorr, sister-in-law, Harriett Bishop of Chesaning and also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John, brother, Bernard, sister, Cheryl and nephew, Jonathon Harris.
Funeral liturgy will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Maple Grove. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate with burial in the St. Michael cemetery. Friends may call at the Walker-Martin Funeral Home in Chesaning on Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 12:00-8:00 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also visit with the family at the church on Monday after 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
