WHITE, FRANK T., M.D. (Whizzer) – of Davison age 85, passed away May 13, 2017 at his residence. A Funeral Liturgy, followed by Military Honors will be held at 12 PM Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Leroy White officiating. Visitation is 11AM - 2 PM and 4-8 PM Wednesday, with a Scripture Service and memory sharing from 7-8 PM. There will be a one hour of visitation prior to the service on Thursday.
Dr. White was born in Middleport, OH on December 11, 1931. He was Valedictorian of Middleport High school and graduated from Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1955 at only 23 years of age. As one of the youngest Captains at the time, he served in the US Air Force as a physician and subsequently opened his practice in Genesee County. Dr White was a board-certified practicing member of the American Academy of Family Physicians for 50 years. He was passionate about helping anyone in any way possible, and made house calls during his entire career. He also served as the physician for the Davison high school football team for 20 years.
Dr. White loved spending time with his wonderful wife, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends, as well as his treasured patients. His beloved Ohio State Buckeye football was his passion which he joyfully shared with anyone, especially his friends from Michigan. He was dearly loved by everyone from all walks of life and was an inspiration to all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Dianne of 37 years, children- Martin (Elaine) White of CT, Christine (Carl) Battista of CO, Kim (Mark) Sortet of IL, Laura (Edward) Vogt of Shelby Township, 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Frankie White, infant twins Daniel and Christine, and brother Mitt. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Ishaque and staff as well as the staff at Briarwood/Heartland Health Center.
In lieu of flowers please, memorial contributions may be made to the “Davison Community Schools - Frank T White MD Scholarship Fund.” Contributions may be made at the funeral home as well as mailed to: Davison Community Schools Business Office, 1490 N Oak Rd, Davison, MI 48423. Be sure to note: “Frank T White MD Scholarship Fund” in the memo portion.
