CANADAY, Odis R. – Of Flushing, age 86, died Sunday, July 2, 2017 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Bishop Keith McKinnies officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Odis was born in Manila, Arkansas on January 8, 1931, and lived in the Flint area most of his life.
He proudly served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
On June 4, 1954 he married Mary Lou Dunivan and she preceded him in death on September 13, 2012.
Mr. Canaday retired from GM, after 30 years of service.
Surviving are children, Garry, Jimmy (Linda) and Michael;
daughter-in-law, Laurie;
6 grandchildren, Aaron, Rachel, Andrea, Cameron, Chloe and Olivia;
3 great-grandsons, Jackson, Tag and Odis James.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Ronald Canaday of Davison; sister, Mattie Sexton of Texas and brother, Bob Canaday of Flint.
