MEINTS, Eileen – of Flint, age 91, passed away June 17, 2014 at home. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday, June 20, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, Pastor Ron Nuckles officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday, 10-11 AM Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvert Park Community Church of God or Genesys Hospice.
Eileen was born in Atlas Township on June 18, 1922, daughter of Delbert and Alice (Boze) Cohee. She married Peter Meints on September 10, 1946. After raising a family, Eileen worked at Best Western for twenty years, retiring in 1987. In retirement, Eileen and Pete enjoyed trips to Tennessee and northern Michigan.
Eileen is survived by her son, Thomas of Flint; daughter, Salle (Jerry) Gean of Swartz Creek; granddaughters, Jennifer (Travis) Bradow, Melissa Hicks; grandson, David Gean; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete in 2010; son, Gary Smith; grandson, Aaron Smith; sister, Dortha Lawcott and her brother Donald. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Genesys Hospice for the care given to Eileen at the end of her life.
