Margaret was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 17, 1927, the daughter of Alfred and Nellie (Strang) Waugh. She married Earl Greenmiller in 1950. Together they had one daughter, Kathleen and they both preceded Margaret in death. She later met Arthur “Dude” MacArthur and moved to Flushing when they wed in May of 1972. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1992. Margaret followed in her father’s footsteps as owner of Al Waugh Sales, where she worked with Dawn Flour Company, becoming the first female to work there. Together with her second husband, Dude, they owned and operated the Flushing Bakery. Margaret was an active member of Flushing United Methodist Church and was involved in many groups and committees. She also belonged the Order of the Eastern Stars, Cur Travel, Red Hat Society, Flushing Book Club, Madame Alexander Doll Club, the Birthday Club, and the Flushing Historical Society.
After her only daughter passed away, she became an honorary mother to many children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; cousins; nieces and nephews; and many dear friends, whom she loved as her own.
