Ronald Paul Kalisz, 81, of Metamora, (formerly of Davison), died Wednesday, February 13, 2019.
Ronald was born October 2, 1937 in Melvindale, Michigan to Stanley and Pauline (Scott) Kalisz. He graduated from Dryden High School, class of 1955. Upon graduation Ron enlisted in the US Marines and served his country proudly for the next three years. Ron married Diane Gibson on June 27, 1959. He owned and operated RV and mobile home supply businesses for over 55 years – he retired in 2011. Ron enjoyed his church, traveling to Florida and time spent with family.
Ron is survived by his children: Raymond (Allison) Kalisz of Metamora, Lisa Kalisz of Davison and Matthew of Davison; four grandchildren: Joseph, Brooke, Nicole and Henry; siblings: Barbara Blair, Patty (Ron) Campbell, Jeannine Iloncaie, Judy Wilson and Linda (Pat) Fettig. Ron is also survived by his special friend and companion, Mary Jane Hildebrant of Metamora and her daughters: Deborah (Edward) Shuttie of Monroe and Kimberly (Martin) Finn of Avon Lake, Ohio. Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Diane in 2004; two brothers: Stanley Jr. and Thomas Kalisz and his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 2140 University Park Drive, Suite 210, Okemos, Michigan 48864 or the American Diabetes Association, 20700 Civic Center Drive, Suite 100,Southfield, Michigan 48076.
Visitation will be from 4-8PM Thursday, February 14, 2019 and 1-4/6-8PM Friday, February 15, 2019 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. The Rosary will be prayed 7PM Friday evening. Ron’s funeral service will be 11:00AM Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Muir Brothers in Lapeer. Father Michael Gawlowski will officiate. Ron’s family will receive friends from 10-11AM at the funeral home the morning of the service. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Oakwood, Michigan.
