Long, Geri (Geraldine) Long age 61 of Flint has passed away January 18, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 10 Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Dodds Dumanois Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 901 Garland St. Flint, MI. Family will receive visitors from 12-8 pm Friday, Jan. 23 at the funeral home. Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Burial in Meadowview Cemetery. Geri was born Oct. 17, 1953, the daughter of Raymond Long and Louella Denome. Geri was the loving sister to Raymond Long, Donald Long, Mary Wilson and a wife to Roger Vanover. She was a mother to Joe (Shannon) Harvey, Julie Harvey and Chauncey Wolbert, Derek (Rachel) Harvey; a grandmother to Katie, Mackenzie, Justice, Ashton, Landon, Linken and Lexxie; and an aunt to many nieces and nephews. Geri enjoyed watching Lifetime and playing Bingo on Facebook when she couldn't actually get out and go the the bingo hall. She worked as a paper carrier for the Flint Journal and she always lent out a hand to those in need. Geri helped in any possible way she could. A big thank you to Evon Leitch for never leaving her side. Geri is preceded in death by her father Raymond Long, step-father Donald Denome, husband Roger Vanover, and brother Raymond Long. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Harvey Family.
