HARDMAN, Donna Lou – Age 89, of Grand Blanc, entered eternal paradise on October 23, 2024.
Donna was born in Flint, Michigan on September 23, 1935 the daughter of the late William and Nora (Haugen) Champion. Her fondest childhood memories were trips to Higgins Lake and quality time with her beloved family. She graduated from Flushing High School in 1954.
Donna met the love of her life, Jay Ronald Hardman, on a blind date, and the pair were wed on June 26, 1954.
She was a faithful wife, devoted mother, and doting grandmother with a surprising sense of humor, quick wit, and remarkable generosity.
Donna had a strong faith in Christ and enjoyed sharing God’s love and Biblical knowledge with others. Her greatest love was Jesus.
During her life, she made many disciples: her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, among others.
Though she enjoyed staying close to home, Donna’s biggest adventure was a 2014 trip to the Holy Land with her dear friend and “adopted daughter,” Sandy Stanfill.
Donna was an avid reader, arts and crafts enthusiast, and puzzle expert. She was a talented seamstress and gifted musician, playing the piano and organ, singing in the church choir, and playing the handbells.
For over 45 years, she was a member of Kirkridge Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder and sharing her musical gifts during worship service.
Donna is deeply cherished and missed by her family, friends, and church community but leaves a legacy of hope, faith, and love.
Her family includes sons, Michael Jay of Grand Blanc, MI, David William of Spring Hill, TN, Steven Ronald (Susan) of Holland, MI and Joseph Carl (Kathryn) of Holly, MI; grandchildren, Kelli (David) Paskey, Jaymie (Mark) Rivaldi, Andrew (Misato) Hardman, Joel Hardman, Kira Hardman, and Brooklyn Hardman; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Ethan, Elodie and Giorgia and Charlie.
She also leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Ronald; her sister, Lois (Robert) Bryden; brother, Robert (Dorothy) Champion; sister, Ramona (Allen) Flickinger and sister-in-law, Carol (Larry) Gooding.
