COX, Barbara – Of Flint, age 84, died Monday, March 4, 2019
in the presence of her family.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, her nephew, Pastor Mark Cox officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the National Chapter of the Huntington's Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Friday and 12 p.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Barbara was born in Gideon, Missouri on September 19, 1934, the daughter of the late Cleadeth Leroy and Freeda (Porter) Tolbert.
She was a member of Grand Blanc Church of Christ.
Mrs. Cox was employed by Meijer for 25 years.
Surviving are children, Michael (JoAnna) Cox,
Robert (Carrie) Cox and
Shiela (John) Brand;
grandchildren, Christopher, Courtney, Gregory, Jamie, Kaywen, Chelsea, Mason and Amanda;
great-grandchildren, Mylah, Maliah, Reggie, Warren, Makenzi and Rhyan;
special friends, Kay Marchbanks, Faye Walterhouse, Barbara Ellen Cox and Verneal Gaines.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo; brother, Julian Tolbert; son, Gregory Cox and daughter, Shelly Cox.
