SNOW, Shirley L. –of Millington, age 86, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be 11 AM Monday, October 28, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Rev. Harris Hoekwater officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7 PM Saturday and 1-7 PM Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Shirley was born in Flint, Michigan on April 5, 1927, daughter of the late Lyman and L.S. Jane (McGinnis) Harris. She married Walter L. Snow on October 23, 1948. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary the day she passed away. Shirley was a cafeteria worker at Homes Junior High in Flint. She also enjoyed being a hairdresser, which she did for many years. In Shirley’s free time she loved making baskets and crocheting for her family and friends.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Walter L. Snow: children, Daniel (Sue) Snow, Delynn (R. Scott) Gardiner; seven grandchildren, Kris (Jeanne) Snow, Jeff (Beth) Snow, Christine (Patrick) Clarke, Jaime (Kiel) Vanderhavel, Lynsie (Ray) Tobin, Keri (Matt) Jaynes and Jason Unger; nine great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Katrina Unger; four brothers, Clarence, David E., Harold and Lyman; two sisters, Emma and Dorothy.
