DAOUST, Joyce Marie (Young) - Of Flushing, age 91, died Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Charter Senior Living of Davison.
Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, July 6, 2024 at the North Baptist Church, 4004 Lennon Road, Flint,
Pastor Ben Stillwell officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Charter Senior Living of Davison Memory care.
Visitation 12-3 pm and 5-8 pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 10 am Saturday at church until the time of the service.
Joyce was born in Flint, Michigan on October 31, 1932, the daughter of the late Carl and Hattie (Suffel) Young. She retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. Joyce enjoyed gardening, quilting, music, and playing the piano and organ for church, which she did from 15 years old all the way into her 80’s. She was a member of Hurley Auxiliary, North Baptist Church, Scrapbaggers Quilt Club, Silent Wings and Pregnancy Crisis Center.
Surviving are children, Cheryl Morse and fiancé, John Wiggins, Maria Scott, Sandra Shafer, John (Catherine) Morse, Dianna (Dennis) Harless, Dan (Pam) Daoust, Barb (Arnold) Kottmann, Michael (Carol) Morse and Mike Daoust;
many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren;
and her 101 year old sister, Millie Young.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Daoust, daughter Jean Neithercut, son Brian Daoust, brothers, Marvin McVicker and Bertrum Young.
