STONE, Rickie Jerome – of Burton, MI, age 77, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service, conducted under the auspices of the Davison Odd Fellows and officiated by Rev. Kevin R. Knox, will be held 3 PM Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. The family will receive visitors 1-3 PM Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Davison Odd Fellows, in Rickie’s memory.
Rickie was born in Durand, MI on May 22, 1947, son of the late Robert “Bob” and Martha Louise (Firestone) Stone. He was a graduate of Bendle High School Class of 1966. On November 11, 1966, he married Sandra Tottingham in Grand Blanc, MI. Rickie retired from General Motors after a fulfilling career, during which he made many lasting friendships. His dedication extended far beyond his professional life. He was an active and esteemed member of the Davison Odd Fellows, where he found camaraderie and purpose. A devoted Boy Scout Cub Leader, Rickie inspired countless young lives with his guidance and support. He also took great pride in his involvement with the Old Newsboys and the Special Olympics, participating in and supporting golf tournaments for these worthy causes. His commitment to the Make-A-Wish Foundation reflected his deep compassion and desire to bring joy to others. Rickie had a true passion for the outdoors. Whether fishing, hunting, camping, or tending to his garden and yard, he embraced each moment with enthusiasm. His love for golf was matched only by his enjoyment of spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered fondly for the countless hours he devoted to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nurturing them with wisdom, laughter, and endless affection. Rickie's legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the love he so generously shared.
Rickie is survived by his wife, Sandra “Sandy” Stone; 4 children, Stephanie Stone, Tonya Stone, Wayne (Tiffany) Stone and Jennifer (Chris) Hutchinson; 3 grandchildren, Alyssa Stone, Kyleigh Stone and Alex Stone; 4 great-grandchildren, River, Elle, Everett and Brantley; brother, Ron (Fredia) Stone; sister-in-law, Dollie Sullivan; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Louise Stone; 2 siblings, Gary Stone and Charna Stone.
